Belgium Style Waffles

Belgium Style Waffles

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Additional Time: 1 minute
Total Time: 8 minutes

If it calls for flour, it's baking right?

  • 3 & ½ cups flour
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 & ½ cups buttermilk at room temperature

Making the Waffle Mix

  1. Whisk all ingredients together in large bowl.
  2. Store in airtight container until ready to use.
  3. Follow steps below when ready to make waffles.

Making the Waffles

  1. Place 2 cups of the above waffle mix in bowl.
  2. Stir in wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  3. Pour batter into heated / buttered waffle iron.
  4. Cook until waffles are golden.

  • The waffle mix is easy to make ahead of time. Just combine all the dry ingredients and place into a mason jar until you're ready to use.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Be sure to allow your dairy ingredients to reach room temperature. Room temperature ingredients not only combine more effortlessly (no over-mixing needed) but they also trap air so much better. This trap air will expand and produce a fluffy texture during your baking process.
